NCATE Accreditation

The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). This accreditation covers all of the institution's initial teacher preparation and advanced educator preparation programs, including the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. The School of Education is also accredited by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification.

The Interdisciplinary Studies degree helps students develop knowledge and skills in many areas. They enhance their aptitude for teaching methods and instructional strategies, curriculum design and assessment, theories of educational psychology, classroom management and discipline, critical thinking and decision-making skills, and organizational and communication skills.
